Gulp in Long Island City is a total hidden gem; while it looks like a small, unassuming takeout joint from the front, it hides a dark, intimate back room thatβs absolutely perfect for a low-key date night. The Chicken and Lu Rou Fan Bento is incredibly filling and well worth it, featuring a comforting small chicken soup, a refreshing radish salad, and crispy popcorn chicken that is perfectly seasoned without being too saltyβespecially when paired with their excellent homemade chili paste. Top it off with a refillable iced tea and great value, and this Taiwanese spot is a must-visit highly recommended neighborhood favorite.

The food was incredible. Itβs mesmerizing how much this restaurant can do in a small space. The staff is super friendly and attentive. If you ever see a line outside, wait it out, itβs worth it.

A wonderful dining experience with a speak easy surprise. This is a hidden gem in Long Island City. Highly recommend it for a quick sit down. Not a lot of seats. But you know that it's good because of the revolving door for pick up and delivery. The chicken and rice combo was delicious. I've also had the beef soup noodle combo (very nice as well). Will definitely be there again.... and again :)

I was fortunate to be the first customer today. Based on previous review reccomendations, I ordered the Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice) and it was FREAKING delicious! I've only had Mainland Chinese food before but Taiwanese is distinct and unique - it feels like a fusion of Japanese and Chinese! I took full advantage of the free refills, their tea with ice is DIVINE! Sweet but not too sweet and refreshing. They also offered home made chicken broth as a sample on the house. It's rich and warm...kind of like comfort food! They currently have a promo where giving a Five star review rewards a free drink. I do feel that the AC is a bit strong, sitting down you can feel the freeze blowing which can quickly cool your food but overall it was an excellent dining experience. I plan to return to order something else in the future!

Just had Taiwanese food for the first time, and Iβm blown away! The Beef Noodle Soup was incredible, the broth looked red but wasn't spicy, just smooth and mellow. The noodles were soft, and the beef literally melted in my mouth. The Braised Pork Rice was also a winner with its fragrant soy aroma and perfect rice texture. The fried chicken was ok. What really tied everything together was their homemade pickled mustard greens. They were the perfect palate cleanser, cutting through the richness of the meat. It felt like exactly what my body needed, nothing was too overwhelming, just a perfectly balanced flavor profile. Oh, they served a tiny cup of appetizer broth to awaken the taste buds, which was so unique. With the side veggies, it felt like such a complete and nutritious meal.
